We Support Our Troops
Our Wilmington community is our pride. We bring the same commitment to service that guided us in uniform to the work we do here at home.
Patriotism begins early. Through scholarships, flag education, and classroom programs, we encourage young people to serve their community. Veterans of overseas conflicts are welcome here for camaraderie, support, and advocacy.

The Illinois VFW recognized Wilmington Post 5422 as a 2023–2024 All-State Team Post. Thank you to the members, volunteers, and community supporters who helped earn this honor.
The recognition reflects work in community service, veteran assistance, Honor Guard duties, youth activities, patriotic education, membership, and support for fellow veterans.
OUR MISSION
The purpose of this Corporation shall be fraternal, patriotic, historical, charitable, and educational: to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members; to assist worthy comrades; to perpetuate the memory and history of our dead; and to assist their widows and orphans; to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its Constitution and laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom, and to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies.
